Registration

All student registrations (both new and returning) must be completed through the district’s Central Registration Center.  Using the online pre-registration portal and providing the required documentation will help to expedite the student’s enrollment to school.  All registrations must be finalized at the Central Registration Center.  Please see the address, hours of operation, and contact information shown below to schedule a final registration appointment.

Dawson County Residents:  Student Registration for NEW or PREVIOUSLY WITHDRAWN students in grades K-12, is now available for the 2018-2019 school year (8/2/2018-5/24/2019).  After submitting  your online registration, please call to schedule an appointment.

Returning Student Pre-Registration for 2018-2019 is now OPEN!  Please read below for important directions.  For parents that receive an email notification, you can start using the link here: Returning Student Pre-Registration

To receive instructions for online registration, you must have an email address on file at your child's school.  Email notifications were sent out on June 29, 2018.  Completing online will help reduce the number of forms that have to be returned to the school.

) You can only submit Returning Student pre-registration using the link provided in the email.  If you submit as a New Student, it will be deleted and you will have to submit again under the correct link for Returning Student Registration.
2) If you enrolled your Kindergartner during the Kindergarten Roundup, do not submit an online registration.  Your registration was completed during the Kindergarten Roundup.  Only submit if you did not attend this event.

If your email address changed or you did not provide one to your child's school, contact the school's records clerk/secretary.  Upon receipt of a valid email address, you will receive an email notification within 1-2 business day.
3) If you do not have access to a computer or the Internet, contact your child's school to schedule an appointment to use one of their computers.
4) If you do not have an email address, you will receive your registration package at Open House on July 31, 2018.


Non-Resident Students:  Parents/students who do not live in Dawson County can apply to the Dawson County School System from April 16 to May 11, 2018.  No applications will be accepted after May 11, 2018.  Please complete the Non-Resident Admission Application for Elementary (K-5).  Non-Resident Application K-5.pdf

Kindergarten
Students entering a Georgia public school for the first time must be age five on or before September 1 to enter Kindergarten.
                                                         

Required Documents for School Enrollment

  • Birth Certificate
    • Original for Pre-K, Kindergarten, & 1st Grade.
    • Certified copy for all other grades.
  • Georgia Immunization Form and Vision, Hearing, and Dental Certificates
    • These forms may be obtained from your pediatrician or the local Department of Public Health.  (*NOTE:  Immunization forms from other states must be transferred to Georgia forms.)
  • Proof of Residency
    • Proof of residency is required for all new enrollees, any change of address, and at each grade span (K, 6th, 8th, & 10th).  Click here for more information: Enrollment Residency Policy.pdf
  • Social Security Number
    • In accordance with Georgia law, a social security number will be requested for each enrolling student at the time of initial enrollment. Parents may choose not to provide a social security number by signing a written waiver.
